SKIT

Create a skit on a classical or biblical theme. Skits must be no more than 10 minutes in length.

Skits will be judged on the following criteria:


--Selection centers around Biblical or Classical story or theme

--Interpretation provides context and shows understanding of selection.

--Understandable setting and circumstance and believable characterization

--Vocal articulation and projection, facial expressions

--Creativity

--Costumes and Props

--Overall Effectiveness



DRAMATIC INTERPRETATION

CCL Dramatic Interpretation Contest - 2024

The Dramatic Interpretation contest consists of the effective and expressive delivery of a Latin passage. Delegates will read a Latin passage with feeling, understanding, and movement.

 

Participants in the Dramatic Interpretation Contest must compete on their current level of Latin study (or the on the level of Latin last completed if not currently enrolled).


Costume and props are NOT to be used. An introduction in English is NOT necessary and, if given, is NOT in any way considered when rating contestants. A false start (i.e., no longer than the first line) will be allowed without a point deduction.


 Memorization is not required, but contestants should practice aloud sufficiently to deliver the passage accurately, with suitable expression, and with good eye contact. Contestants should make sure their movements and gestures are appropriate to the content of the presentation. It is highly recommended that a student’s sponsor hear and approve the presentation before the contest. 

 

For the Advanced Poetry category, students and advisors are reminded that a poem must be recited in the appropriate meter, including elisions.
